2025 marks two significant anniversaries: 30 years since the peace agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 30 years since Adisa Zvekic, also known as Diamusk, began her musical journey at the age of 15 with her first band, Def Age Against Gluho Doba (GDADA). Spanning over three decades, Diamusk has been a tireless voice for peace, justice, and human unity— from her early records with Dubioza Kolektiv to her solo work and collaborations with international artists. Since then, she has released seven LPs, one EP, and multiple singles. As the lead singer of Dubioza Kolektiv on their first three albums, Adisa played a crucial role in the cultural resistance against the political and social turmoil in Bosnia at the time. Her lyrics are deeply influenced by her personal experiences during the Bosnian War and the ongoing chaos that continues to shape Bosnian society long after the war ended. After collaborating with several international artists on her latest album, Sleepwalker (featuring Nils Petter Molvær), released in 2019, Diamusk performed live at the Bergen International Festival.
Then, like many other musicians, she faced an unexpected halt. But that time has passed— music lives on.
Diamusk & International Dub Orchestra is a group of artists led by Bosnian-Norwegian singer, composer and producer Adisa Zvekić, offering a sound that is both authentic, moving, and contemporary. On the album Maze, we find collaborations with artists from Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Norway... seven magnificent Reggae Dub tracks interwoven with Balkan melodies and the warm sound of instruments, telling stories of sorrow and suffering, but also of hope and love!
With her band the International Dub Orchestra, Diamusk takes on the challenge on her new album Maze of telling stories of resistance and inner strength, of hope and love. The album blends classic dub-reggae elements with a modern, international sound, wrapped in traditional Balkan melodies, and tinted with Norwegian mysticism, in short—jazz!
